iTunes U Hits 10M Mark
People around the world have downloaded more than ten million audio and video tracks from Emory’s iTunes U site since its launch in 2008. Lectures, special events, and language lessons are being downloaded at an average of 161,000 a week. Emory has carved out a niche in the iTunes U universe: about 2 percent of all iTunes U downloads are language instruction materials from the University, produced primarily through the Emory College Language Center. Chinese and Kanji represent the bulk of downloads; Cherokee is a current favorite. Emory Magazine is contributing a growing number of audio podcasts.
