A
life-changing experience at Emory: |
"During my freshman year, I attended a lecture by Eloy Rodriguez,
a visiting professor from Cornell University. I became interested
in his work in the tropical rain forest with medicinal plants.
Later, I joined his team as a National Institutes of Health undergraduate
research fellow and conducted fieldwork for three months in the
Yucatan in Mexico. The following summer, I worked in the Venezuelan
Amazon. I have since shifted my career focus, published my research,
and most importantly, gained a greater understanding of this planet,
its people, and myself."
